SALT House - Sea Air Land Tower
Topanga, California
@topangatower
This structure was originally built as a telecommunications tower connecting Los Angeles to the rest of the country via the transmission of microwave relay signal. It has now been renovated into a home and event space with 360 degree views of the surrounding canyons and mountains. The interior features fifteen foot tall ceilings, a massive accordion skylight, and a sunken courtyard with a reflecting pool in the middle. The exterior features native planted berms, numerous seating areas overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and a converted container swimming pool. There is a strong connection between interior and exterior at this property, as well as a strong connection of the property to the context of mountains and sea.
